Meet the Team

Kristen Dillon, MD | Medical Director

Kristen Dillon, MD, serves as CHARA's Medical Director and works to foster partnerships and conversations around health and health care issues in the region. Dr. Dillon is the Director of the Columbia Gorge Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) and also serves as Associate Medical Director for Medicaid Programs for PacificSource Community Solutions. Dr. Dillon is a family physician who has been in practice in Hood River for 15 years, providing primary care services to a diverse patient population at Columbia Gorge Family Medicine and the Hood River Care Center. 

Melinda Davis, PhD | Principal Investigator

Melinda Davis, PhD, serves as CHARA's community-academic partner liaison and provides expertise around community engagement, health services research, and qualitative methods. Dr. Davis is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Director of Community Engaged Research for the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN). Dr. Davis was born and raised in the Columbia Gorge and got her start as a community health advocate serving on the Columbia Gorge Community Health Teen Council during high school.

Susan Lowe | Board Liaison

Susan Lowe serves as a community/patient representative on the CHARA governing board and works to support outreach efforts and the development of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) projects. Susan is a member of the Columbia Gorge CCO Community Advisory Council (CAC), a CAC liason member of the CCO Clinical Advisory Panel, and a board member of The Dalles Meals on Wheels. She is also engaged in primary care research and advocacy through the North American Primary Care Research Group's patient/provider dyads. 

Rose Gunn, MA | Research Associate

Rose Gunn serves as CHARA's project manager. She assists with planning for CHARA's board and core team meetings and supports CHARA functioning behind the scenes. Rose is a Research Associate at the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network. With a background in cultural anthropology, Rose is interested in explorations of health, communities, and culture.
